Muse flowers

Tracey McNeely has created a lovely card using watercolours for this week's Muse challenge.

I liked the stitched border and the watercoloured effect of her card and tried to recreate this in my card.  I'm not sure about whether I should add some splatters - I like the clean and simple look.

Materials used:-
Stamps -  Jofy 14
Stitched border - Lil'inker designs
Distress inks
Adler Rowney Aquafine smooth watercolour card

LIM sketch

It's great to be back after my holiday when I wasn't able to do any crafting - I really missed it!

This week's challenge on Less is More is a sketch.  I don't usually like sketch challenges but this was a very easy sketch to follow and I was pleased with final result which was clean and simple.

I'm also going to enter this card in the August Uniko Studio challenge which is summer.

Materials used:-
DI - dried marigold and ripe persimmon
Versafine black onyx ink
Stamping Up flower stamp from Flower Shop set
Sentiment - Uniko studio Fontiments birthday

Muse flowers

This is my take on Michele's card on Muse #113 - I really liked the contrast of the clean stamping with the fluidity of the watercolour. I also drew a line under the flowers to ground them and mounted my sentiment to match the background of my card.

Materials used:-
Stamp - Little Claire Designs - Cherish, Hope, Dreams
Sentiment - Tim Holtz simple sayings
Distress inks - salty ocean and mermaid lagoon
Versa fine black onyx ink
Coredinations card

Thanks for popping by - now have a look at the Muse blog to see what the other participants have created.

See the flowers smiling

I was delighted to see that this week's challenge on Less is More is Watercolour. Although I am not an artist, I do like water colouring my stamped images with distress inks or watercolour paints. For this card I used distress inks to colour the stamped images and then softened the colours with some water to produce a more muted effect.

Materials used:-
Art Impressions and Chocolate Baroque stamps
Distress Markers -various colours
Sentiment - Hero Arts Anytime Messages

Please pop over to LIM to see all the beautiful water coloured cards.

LIM flowers

The theme at Less is More this week is flowers.  For my card I embossed the main flower and coloured it using distress inks. I added perfect pearls to the centre of the flower. I used the same stamp to create a background which I then outlined using a scoring board.  I was pleased with the final result which I felt was a clean and simple card.

Materials used:-
Distress inks - Victorian Velvet and Worn Lipstick
Sentiment stamp - from Stampin Up "So Happy for You" set
Perfect pearls
Stamp - Hero Arts Small Striped Flower
White embossing powder
