Just a note

Marilyn is the Guest Muse this week for Muse Challenge 180 and she has created this lovely card.

I liked the foliage stamps she used and the white embossing which really stands out against the background.  I decided to change the colour scheme to blues and greens but used the same technique as Marilyn putting distress inks onto an acrylic block, spritzing with water and stamping with this.  I love the texture this creates!

Muse deer

I've been away on holiday for a few weeks so it's lovely to get back to crafting.  When I saw Cornelia Wenokor's card on Muse Christmas Visions this week I was inspired to try something similar.  I liked the layout of Cornelia's card with the trees and the deer and I liked her choice of colours.  I have to admit that I had various attempts using different inks before I was happy with my card.  I used a Ranger ink for the trees which is waterproof so I could then colour the sky with distress inks.

Taking part in this challenge is a great way to build up your stock of Christmas cards and saves any stress later in the year!

Materials used:-
Deer die - Cottage Cutz Deer set
Inks - Ranger cool graphite and DI dusty concord
Tree stamp - Tim Holtz tree line set
Sentiment - Creative Stamping magazine
