Merry Monday Joy!

Challenge #158 over at Merry Monday is to use a stencil in your Christmas card. I used the Tim Holtz mask to create a panel. I then wrapped a narrow piece of vellum around this. I inked and clear embossed some card before die cutting the word - I found this was easier. I like the peacock feathers ink against the white card although I think my photo doesn't do it justice!

Materials used:-
Tim Holtz holiday knit mask
Peacock feathers distress ink
Lawn Fawn joy die
Uniko Studio fontiments birthday set
Archival ink - Wendy Vecci watering can

Thanks for visiting my blog - I really appreciate your comments. Margaret

Butterfly birthday wishes

I'm having fun playing with mask/stencils at the moment. In this card I tried to get an ombré effect by using various shades of distress inks. I then cut out the banner panel by hand and stitched around the edges to echo the circle die.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-
Keep it Simple - challenge #47 Ombré
AAA cards - challenge #17 CREATE stencil style
A Blog Named Hero - challenge #50 Ombré

Materials used:-
Lawn Fawn "stitched party banners" circle die
Butterfly - Sizzix framelits die
Stencil - Creative Expressions
Sentiment - Stampin Up "so happy for you" set
Distress inks - tumbled glass, broken china and peacock feathers
Coredinations card

Thank you for visiting my blog - I really appreciate it!

Stencil

I used a Paper Artsy stencil by Lin Brown to create this card. I inked through the stencil with Black Soot distress ink and then clear embossed it. The background is inked with Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress inks and spritzed with water. I finished the card with some machine stitching.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-
