Birthday wishes

I have been planning to join in the "words" challenge on One Layer Simplicity blog for some time but seem to have left it to the last minute!  I decided to use the Uniko Studio's Fontiments birthday set as I really like all the different sizes and fonts in this set.  I die cut a mask using a Tim Holtz masking sheet and then brushed some distress ink through the mask.  I then used my Fiskars stamp press to position the words.

I'm also going to enter this card in the current Uniko Studio blog challenge which is Anything Goes.

Materials:-
Uniko Studio Fontiments birthday set
Inks - broken china distress ink and archival cornflower blue
Nestabilities die
Inkylicious duster brush

Celebrate

We are being asked to CASE a DT's card on Less is More this week.  I really liked the design of Chrissie's card so CASEd it putting the sentiment at the bottom of my card. I mounted the rectangles on a panel embossed with a Papertrey linen impression plate - I had seen this on various blogs so ordered it from America! I've added a close up to show the subtle embossing.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-
Time Out Challenge 27 which is Clean and Simple with an optional twist of black and White with a splash of colour
Uniko Studio challenge 19 - Anything Goes

Materials used:-
Flower stamp - Penny Black Gossamer
Sentiment - Uniko Studio Fontiments birthday
Inks - picked raspberry distress ink and versafine black onyx
Dienamics pierced rectangles dies
Papertrey linen impression plate
Sheena Douglass white stamping card

CAS bunny

It's the one layer challenge on Less is More this week and Chrissie and her team want to see animals! This was difficult for me as I'm not an "animal" person. However I found this bunny stamp in my stash and made a very CAS card. I really like this style but find it hard to do without being too simple! I added a few pearls which I hope are allowed in the LIM challenge.

I'm also going to enter this into the AAA cards "Bare,  Naked CAS" challenge.

Materials used:-
Bunny stamp - Creative Stamping Magazine issue 23
Sentiment - Stampin Up Just Believe set
Grass - Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge
Distress inks - vintage photo, mowed lawn
Archival ink - potting soil
WR memory keepers corner chomped
Kaisercraft pearls

Tropical

The cue card on CASology this week is TROPICAL which set me dreaming of a tropical island basking under a bright blue sky. A nice dream as we are still waiting for spring to arrive here in the far north of Scotland!  I drew the little island with a distress marker as I felt the picture needed something else.

Materials used:-
Palm leaf stamp - Clarity stamps
Sentiment - Woodware tiny phrases
Circle mask - Stamps Away
Distress inks - tumbled glass, broken China, antique linen and mustard seed
Inkylicious duster
Colorbox ink - Apple green

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your lovely comments - I really appreciate them. Margaret

Black onyx versa fine ink
Sheena Douglass card

This makes me happy!

This week's challenge on Less is More is entitled "This makes me happy". I was struggling to come up with an idea for this, not because I'm a miserable person, but because I couldn't find a suitable stamp. Then I remembered I had downloaded a digi stamp of a very happy girl doing yoga so problem solved! I've been doing yoga regularly for over 30 years and love it although I'm not quite so supple as the girl in the card.

Materials used:-
Digi download from Pink Petticoat
Spectrum Noir pencils
Sentiment - Uniko Studio "Strike a pose" set
Tag die - Creative Expressions pierced tags
Linen card
Ribbon from stash

Thanks for visiting my blog - now pop over to LIM to see all the other happy cards!
