Birthday wishes

I have been planning to join in the "words" challenge on One Layer Simplicity blog for some time but seem to have left it to the last minute!  I decided to use the Uniko Studio's Fontiments birthday set as I really like all the different sizes and fonts in this set.  I die cut a mask using a Tim Holtz masking sheet and then brushed some distress ink through the mask.  I then used my Fiskars stamp press to position the words.

I'm also going to enter this card in the current Uniko Studio blog challenge which is Anything Goes.

Materials:-
Uniko Studio Fontiments birthday set
Inks - broken china distress ink and archival cornflower blue
Nestabilities die
Inkylicious duster brush

LIM wings

This week's challenge on Less is More is Wings - no problem there I thought as I have lots of butterfly stamps.  But you can sometimes have too much choice!  This is the card I finally came up with - I stamped the image with Versafine which gave a nice crisp impression.  Then I watercoloured it with distress markers using a very fine brush!

Materials used:-
Butterfly stamp from Claire Designs - Cherish, Hugs and Dream set
Sentiment - Uniko Studio English Country Garden Butterflies
Distress markers - various including the brand new Abandoned Coral which is gorgeous
Black ink - Versafine

Thanks for visiting my blog - now pop over to LIM to see what the design team and the other participants have created.

Muse card

This week's Muse, Marion Vagg, has created a lovely CAS card to inspire us.  I particularly liked the effect of the white embossing on the turquoise card and I tried to replicate this in my card. I used distress inks to create an ombré effect.  My apologies for the photo - the colours are brighter in real life.

I am also going to enter this card into Inkspirational #74 where the challenge is ombre.

Materials used:-
Stamps - Uniko Studio Background Builders Lattice set
Distress inks - tumbled glass, broken China and salty ocean
White embossing powder
I used Kaleidoscope blue breeze to ink the sentiment
Inkylicious ink duster

New baby

I am very late with this entry for Less is More this week - my apologies for the poor photo. It has been so dark this week that I had to resort to artificial light with the result that the colours are not true. The LIM theme is New Beginnings and it is One Layer Week! I used a Uniko Studio set for this very CAS baby card! I like the effect of the teddy sitting on the letters.

Materials used:-

Stamps - Uniko Studio Sweet Baby set
Inks - SU Brocade Blue, Archival Potting Soil
Distress inks for the teddy - Vintage Photo and Wild Honey

Blogger tells me that this is my 100th post - I can hardly believe that I have made so many cards (and a few scrapbook pages) since March. Thanks to my followers and everyone who visits my blog.  I really enjoy reading your comments.

Papers - My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" and Coredinations card
Embellishments - Sprinkles - swimming pool and Bon bon arrows

I used distress inks to watercolour the image and machine stitched around the card to link in with the stitching on the circle.

Materials used:-
Uniko Studio "Sweet baby" stamps
Distress inks - tea dye, vintage photo, broken china and stormy sky
Black archival ink
Lawn Fawn "stitched party banners " circle die

Watercolour butterfly

This week we are being asked to play with watercolours over at AAA cards. I love using distress inks to create a water coloured effect as I did on this card. For the background I painted 2 colours of distress ink on watercoloured card and then spritzed this so the colours blended. I then used the same distress inks to paint the butterfly.

Materials used:-
Butterfly - Uniko Studio "English Country Garden" set
Sentiment - Stampin Up
Distress inks - peacock feathers and mustard seed

Thank you for visiting my blog - now pop over to AAA cards and see what the other participants have created.
